On Monday, 30 January 2017, in the morning at 9:44, in Plungės district municipality, on the Plungė–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 14.68), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Toyota Corolla (36 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. All drivers were sober.
