On Tuesday, 31 January 2017, in the evening at 21:09, in Utenos district municipality, on A. Baranausko street, at the junction with K. Donelaičio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Audi A4, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (0.54‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
