On Friday, 17 February 2017, in the evening at 21:22, in Vilnius, on T. Narbuto street, a Volvo V70 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 16-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 15-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Volvo (24 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
