On Friday, 9 February 2018, in the evening at around 19:00, in Vilnius, on T. Narbuto street, a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 75-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (6 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
