On Friday, 24 February 2017, in the morning at around 5:00, in Anykščių district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 98), a DAF FT XF105.460 registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the DAF (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
