On Sunday, 12 March 2017, at night at 1:32, in Utenos district municipality, Antalgės village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 124), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and an Audi A6 Avant registered in Belarus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.27‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
