On Monday, 3 April 2017, at night at 23:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 16.26), a DAF FT XF105 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the DAF (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
