On Tuesday, 26 July 2022, in the afternoon at 15:45, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 16), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70, a Fendt and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Volvo (31 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
