On Thursday, 6 April 2017, in the evening at 17:55, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 278), a BMW X5 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the BMW (23 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
