On Thursday, 13 April 2017, in the evening at 18:07, in Vilnius, on Baltupio street, at the junction with Lobio street, a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Honda Civic and a Peugeot 307. Four people were injured — a 19-year-old passenger of the Honda (treated as an outpatient), a 17-year-old passenger of the Honda (treated as an outpatient), a 17-year-old passenger of the Honda (treated as an outpatient) and the 32-year-old driver of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Honda, who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
