On Sunday, 16 April 2017, at night at 4:53, in Kėdainių district municipality, Saviečių village, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 73), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 52-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
