On Tuesday, 25 April 2017, in the evening at 22:30, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 113.19), a DAF FAT XF105 registered in Latvia ran off the road. One person was injured — the 34-year-old driver of the DAF (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the DAF (16 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
