On Sunday, 23 July 2017, in the evening at 18:35, in Kretingos district municipality, Pecelių village, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 113.25), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Honda NT 650 V and a Volkswagen Passat. Two people were injured — the 55-year-old driver of the Honda (hospitalized) and a 54-year-old passenger of the Honda (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Honda (38 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
