On Tuesday, 6 June 2017, in the afternoon at 14:40, in Kaunas, on Raudonojo Kryžiaus street, at the junction with Kiškių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
