On Friday, 28 July 2017, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Partizanų street near No. 76, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Acura RL 3.5 and a Volkswagen Golf. Two people were injured — the 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 11-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Acura (1 year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
