On Monday, 8 January 2024, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Birželio 23-iosios street, at the junction with Partizanų street, an Audi hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 27-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Audi (4 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
