On Sunday, 20 August 2017, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 102), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the DAF (23 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
