On Wednesday, 27 September 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Širvintų street, at the junction with Kapsų street, a Yamaha XP 500 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 8-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 68-year-old driver of the Yamaha (28 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
