On Friday, 29 September 2017, at night at 4:20, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl., at the junction with Tilžės street, an Audi A4 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
