On Saturday, 7 October 2017, in the evening at around 18:00, in Marijampolės municipality, on Gedimino street near No. 96, at the junction with Vasaros street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
