On Thursday, 12 October 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 102), an Opel hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Opel (14 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
