On Sunday, 12 November 2017, in the afternoon at 14:55, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Algirdo street, at the junction with Žagarėlės street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant, a Volkswagen Passat and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Audi (11 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.54‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
