On Wednesday, 15 November 2017, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaunas, on Kuršių street near No. 7, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E320 and a Ford Galaxy. Two people were injured — a 3-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient) and a 6-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 75-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (45 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
