On Monday, 20 November 2017, in the evening at 22:57, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 24.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S40, a BMW X5 3.0D and a Mazda 6. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volvo, who was driving a vehicle with faults the traffic rules prohibit driving with. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
