On Thursday, 23 November 2017, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 15.80), a DAF ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the DAF (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
