On Monday, 20 November 2017, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Vilnius, on Jeruzalės street near No. 18, an Opel Astra hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 75-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Opel (15 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
