On Friday, 29 December 2017, in the evening at 18:59, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 53), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A8 and a Renault Megane Scenic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Audi (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He refused a sobriety test. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
