On Monday, 1 January 2018, at night at 0:30, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Pavenčių street, at the junction with Naftininkų street, a BMW 316I ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. A 19-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
