On Thursday, 11 January 2018, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Varnių street near No. 51, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf, a Toyota Avensis and a Ford DNX (FOCUS). No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
