On Saturday, 13 January 2018, in the evening at 17:23, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 19), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and a Volkswagen Jetta. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Audi (20 years of driving experience), who violated traffic rules on expressways. He was drunk (1.21‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
