On Wednesday, 7 February 2018, in the evening at 20:42, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vievis–Maišiagala–Nemenčinė national road (kilometre 3.57), a Jaguar S-Type registered in France ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
