On Monday, 12 March 2018, in the evening at 18:16, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 101.22), a BMW 520 registered in Belarus ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the BMW (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
