On Saturday, 17 June 2023, in the morning at 5:12, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 102.30), a BMW 320D registered in Latvia hit an obstacle. One person was injured — a 19-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
