On Friday, 16 March 2018, in the evening at 17:30, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 9.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGS, an Audi A6, a Doll -- and a Volvo V40. Three people were injured — a 27-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient), the 29-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient) and a 7-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the MAN (19 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
