On Tuesday, 10 April 2018, in the evening at 18:09, in Vilnius, on Gedimino pr. near No. 20, a BMW 316 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.61‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
