On Sunday, 13 May 2018, in the evening at around 19:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, Gruzdžių town, on S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno street near No. 40, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Skoda Fabia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
