On Friday, 26 May 2023, in the afternoon at 14:10, in Šiaulių district municipality, Gruzdžių town, on S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno street near No. 20, a Yamaha hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. Two people were injured — a 8-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and the 15-year-old driver of the Yamaha (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by a 8-year-old pedestrian, who committed sudden emergence from behind a vehicle, tree, etc.. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
