On Friday, 1 June 2018, in the afternoon at 15:35, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 47.96), a Mercedes-Benz CL500 registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (0.85‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
