On Thursday, 28 June 2018, in the evening at around 22:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 12.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Yaris Verso and an Opel. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
