On Thursday, 7 June 2018, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Kretinga national road (kilometre 10.50), an Opel Zafira hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Opel (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
