On Tuesday, 23 October 2018, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Kretinga national road (kilometre 12.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Setra S 215 and a Scania. Four people were injured — a 73-year-old passenger of the Setra (hospitalized), a 80-year-old passenger of the Setra (hospitalized), a 63-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient) and a 13-year-old passenger of the Setra (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Setra (12 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
