On Wednesday, 18 July 2018, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on V. Landsbergio-Žemkalnio street near No. 11, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf, an Opel Astra Station Wagon, an Opel Vectra, a Volvo S40, an Opel Astra and a Renault Megane. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.73‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
