On Saturday, 25 August 2018, in the evening at 20:57, in Vilnius, on Savanorių pr. near No. 15A, an Audi A6 Avant hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 83-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 85-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi (14 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
