On Monday, 10 September 2018, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on P. Višinskio street near No. 90, an Opel Zafira hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 52-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Opel (29 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
