On Tuesday, 9 October 2018, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Ateities pl. near No. 8, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Xantia and a Toyota Avensis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Citroen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
