On Wednesday, 10 October 2018, in the afternoon at 13:20, in Kaunas, on K. Baršausko street near No. 99A, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Touran and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 88-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (35 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
