On Wednesday, 10 October 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Maironio street near No. 30, a BMW hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 35-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the BMW (28 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
