On Saturday, 20 October 2018, in the evening at 21:30, in Joniškio district municipality, Kriukų town, on S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno street near No. 6, at the junction with Naujoji street, a Mazda Premacy hit an obstacle. One person was injured — a 45-year-old passenger of the Mazda (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mazda, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He was drunk (1.36‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
