On Saturday, 27 October 2018, at night at around 4:00, in Kaunas, on Jonavos street near No. 1e, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Renault. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.03‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
