On Monday, 29 October 2018, in the evening at 19:15, in Kaunas, on Kalniečių street, at the junction with Žeimenos street, a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 45-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (2 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
